A sense of community: helping those in need
At Chatswood Dental Care, we believe we also need to help the more disadvantaged in our community so we regularly donate our services to charitable institutions.
Along with a small group of other practices each year Dr Hart provides volunteer dental days for homeless and special needs patients through the National Dental Foundation. He also provides emergency dental care for refugees through the Red Cross and has donated his time and skills to the Balgo Aboriginal community in the Kimberley region. Procedures often range from examinations, cleans and fillings to ‘mini makeovers’ and dentures.
Many of the patients have suffered from neglect for many years and this has severely affected their self-image, confidence and health. Being given access to professional dental care not only helps their overall wellbeing but it can also be life changing for many.
The staff at Chatswood Dental Care all give freely of their time and find the volunteer days a highly rewarding and a very worthwhile experience, especially when they see someone smile for what may be the first time in years.
